Communications Secretary

The role of Communications Secretary is a new role on the EC and reflects the changing times we are living in. The club currently communicates with members through the Rambler, the Website, The various WhatsApp groups and Mailchimp. In addition, we have a Facebook page for the club and an Instagram account for the Trailblazers. What is now needed is someone to coordinate all the Communications to members, to assist in the development of a social media policy and to come with a plan about how best to use Social Media to attract energetic and enthusiastic new members to the club. This role will suit someone who is comfortable with social media and who has some technical knowledge. Anyone interested in finding out more can contact me at ramblerpresident@gmail.com   

Holidays Coordinator (Position filled – April 2025)

The role of a Holidays Coordinator on the committee is not new, as this was a very active role in the not too distant past on the EC. The need for this role has been brought about by the likely retirement of the club stalwarts (Herbert, Jerry and Louis), who have flagged that any holiday they arrange in 2025 could very well be the last holiday they will arrange and Jerry’s article in this Rambler is timely in this regard. In addition, while it is great to see many holidays organized in Ireland for members, most of these are during the week and so what is needed is additional shorter trips on weekends to facilitate those members still working. To this end, the role of the Holidays Coordinator will be to find people to organize holidays and weekends and to help the organiser do so, particularly if they have not organized a holiday before. There will be a lot of help from existing members of the EC to anyone interested in taking up this role.
