About us..
Day long hikes for all fitness levels take place on Sundays. The fittest grade typically covers about 20km and climbs several mountains to accumulate a height gain of about 1000m. On Thursdays and Saturdays the hikes are at a moderate pace and, in the Summer, there are enjoyable strolls on Wednesday evenings.
We allocate a meeting point in the morning at a time between 10.00am and 11.00am, depending on the hike, and then drive to the start of the hike. Members will receive all the necessary information about meeting points and hikes though the club’s monthly newsletter “The Rambler”.
Every Sunday we have six different day long hikes which are divided into grades. You decide which hike you want to join for that day depending on your own level of fitness and stamina. Each hike will have an allocated leader. These grades are explained, in detail on the “Grades of Walk” page.
But it's not all outdoor fun. The Ramblers are very sociable and enjoy getting together for a meal after the day’s hiking. The location of the after hike meal will be notified to all members through our monthly newsletter The Rambler.
Select from the links to find out what days and grade of walk suits you.
We also organize other events such as walking holidays and training weekends.
